Kenneth C. Mnene- Managing Director, Bsc -UMIST (Hons); ACIB (UK)
Ken has a very strong background in the financial sector, having worked with Barclays Bank (K) Ltd for many years, before resigning to concentrate on the company. During his time at Barclays, he specialized in corporate lending, and was the Credit Manager in the Corporate Team, with a personal lending discretion of Kshs 150 Million. Ken is a chartered banker (ACIB) and also holds a BSc in Financial Services from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
His very strong background in both lending and management places him very well at the helm of the management of SCL as the Managing Director.
Dickens Akivaga Atsiaya – Technical Director (Dip in Civil Engineering)
Dickens qualified at the Kenya Polytechnic (Recently renamed THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, NAIROBI), with a Diploma in Civil Engineering in the year 2001, and therefore carries with him a total of 12 years’ experience in the construction industry.
He has a wealth of hands on experience, gained whilst working with several organizations as his CV attests. Besides his technical knowledge, he also has a good grasp of financial issues, having negotiated facilities for another client, Dr. Mueke, with Shelter Afrique.
Margaret Wangari Wango – Accountant:
She is the Company Accountant. She is a young and dynamic person, and has brought to the company a lot of zeal in the way our finances are managed. Margaret qualified as a CPA (K) in December 2012.
Technical Team
Dickens Akivaga Atsiaya – Technical Director:
-Diploma in Civil Engineering (Kenya Polytechnic.
As attested to here above, Dickens is the Technical Director and continues to ensure that we deliver jobs within the agreeable timeframe and to the required standards.
Wycliffe Aluoch – Technical Manager
He is a holder of a Higher National Diploma from the Technical University, Nairobi, and has a wealth of practical experience.
He is a specialist in dam and road construction and is normally deployed to take charge in all our sites for dam, dyke, and any other civil works that the company undertakes. His performance has been exemplary.
George Wanyonyi Wasike. – Site Manager
He is our site Manager, currently based at our Red hill Site. Wasike is not entirely new to the company, having worked very well and delivered our other project next to the Daystar University, for our client, N. Namsi.
Wasike is a holder of a Higher Diploma in Construction from the KIHBT and is both technically and academically strong, with ability to work under very strict deadlines.
Emanuel Kichikiro – Site Manager
He is our site Manager based in Taita Taveta County. He was in charge of the massive road project that the company undertook on instructions from the Taveta Council. Under his watch and guidance, the company managed to open up about 30 KM of unpaved roads in the new Taveta Town.
He also supervised the construction of the Taveta Airstrip, a project that was commissioned by Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), which was successfully handed over to the owners.
Michael Irungu Macharia - Chief Foreman
Michael is a veteran in the construction industry, with experience that spans well over 40 years. He started constructing in 1972, starting off at low levels and rising steadily through the ranks in various companies. His practical approach to construction gained from years of experience working for various organizations is a strong asset to the company. Michael is a highly respected Chief Foreman, and commands a lot of authority.
Ernest Orudo:
He is currently the site supervisor for our Kisii project, after successfully delivering the Rongai project for Johari Ventures Limited.
He is very strong in both building and civil works, and has well over 32 years of practical experience.
Kadari Kinahe: Transport Manager:
He has been with us for the last three years. Kadari is an honest and dedicated worker and recently was elevated to the position of Transport Manager
